The Lady Knights JV team had another big week last week raising their record to 10-4 with big league wins over Walnut Hills and Wilmington. The Lady Knights started out slow against Walnut Hills but kept to the script to pull out the win, the Knights were led by Haley Delaney 10 pts, and Laura Harsnett 8pts. Shannon Lance showed great leadership running the offense and distributing the ball to open Lady Knights for the scores. Nadine Press and April Rumelhart were human erasers on the defensive end getting every rebound and starting the fast break.  Scoring for the Knights were Ollie Demumbrum, Katie White, Stephanie Weimer, Auna Rabe and Molly Kruse provided the Knights valuble minutes comming off the bench to help give the Knights starters a rest when needed.

Wilmington

The Lady Knights played Wilmington on Saturday and recorded another league win  beating Wilmington by 12, the Knights started out with a full court press that helped get them an 8-0 lead by the defensive play of Stephanie Weimer.  Stephanie had 4 steals and 6 of the 8 first quarter points.  Shannon Lance once again displayed the qualities of a true leader with her play and leadership, she had a supporting cast of April Rumelhart and Nadine Press that controlled the defensive boards to start the offensive breaks. Laura Harsnett and Michel Bruns made key baskets down the stretch to put the game out of reach.

The Knights have a big week this week with games against Glen Este and Little Miami on Sat 2/6, the Knights handed Little Miami their only loss of the year and will be looking for a repeat to keep a share of the FAVC  title .

Little Miami vs Kings

Kings junior varsity girls came out and played with a lot of emotion and determination against cross town rivalry Little Miami, The Knights were led by Shannon Lance with 9 pts, followed by Laura Harsnett 6 pts, Mack Seiter controlled the tempo for the Knights . Nadine Press got the start for the Knights and played well in her first start with key rebounds ,along with April Rumelhart and Michelle Brunns  the Knight s controlled the boards.The Knights led the entire game except for the last 35 seconds, when Little Miami took the lead, Michelle Brunns hit a shot with 20 seconds to put the Knights down by 1 and then Stephanie Weimer stole the inbound pass and was fouled.  She went to the foul line with 2.2 seconds on the clock and sank 2 free throws. Also Making their JV debut were Ollie Demumbrum, and Haley Delaney.

Kings at Ursuline

 The Lady Knights JV team ran into a physical Ursuline team , the Knights lost 46-29, Michelle Brunns led the way with 6 pts and 5 rebounds, Laura Harsnett 6pts 3 rebounds. Shannon Lance and Mack Seiter  dished out 3 assist each.

Scoring for the Knights were Mack Seiter-4 pts, Michelle Brunns-6, April Rumelhart-2, Stephanie Weimer-2, Nadine Press-2,Katie White-2,Haley Delaney-2, Ollie Demumbrum-2.

 Ameila @ Kings

 The Knights came out and played their best basketball of the year against the Barons from Ameila, Freshman Haley Delaney led all scorers with 10 pts , she was followed by Mack Seiter -6pts, Shannon Lance-4, Michelle Brunns-4, Stephanie Weimer 7, Laura Harsnett 3, Nadine Press 6, Katie White 2,Ollie Demumbrum-2.  Molly Kruse and  Auna Rabe played well distributing the ball to inside of the zone defense of Ameila.  Nadine Press and Stephanie Weimer continue to play their best basketball .

 Kings @ Milford 

 The Knights lost to Milford 31-21, Shannon Lance led the way for the Knights with 8pts and many bruises, it was a tough physical game but the knights played hard and never gave up, scoring for the Kinghts were Mack Seiter-4,Michelle Brunns-3, Stephanie Weimer-2,Katie White-2,Ollie Demumbrum-2,

The Junior Varsity Girls basketball team raised there record to 3- 0 with a big league win over FAVC  foe Ameila 47-15 ; the Knights had a balanced scoring attatck , Laura Harsnett scored the first 6 pts of the game and went on to finish with 9pts, along with team mates Shannon Lance 9 pts, Michelle Bruns with 10 pts, Stephanie wehimer 8pts, Mckinzie Seiter with 8 pts, Nadine Press with 7 pts, April Rumelhart with 8 pts.

Tuesday 12/1 The Knight junior varsity girls basketball team had a season break out game with Beating Monroe 45-12, leading scorers for the knights were Shannon Lance, Mckinzie Seiter ,Laura Harsnett, Michelle Bruns and Stephanie wehimer, and Molly Kruse lead all scorers with 8 pts.The knight defense in the 2^nd half  was led by Katie White and Anna Rahba, a foreign exchange student from Germany, who snageed 3 steals .

The Lady Knights participated in an Amazing Race at YMCA Camp Kern.  The girls faced many different challenges: Giant Swing, Cowboy Up, Bean Bag Battle Ship, Life Size Word Searches, Fire Building and much more!  What a great season kick off!
