Freshman Win First Round of Tournament

Freshman won their first tournament game. Kings was seeded # 1 in the Fairfield Tournament. The first game last Friday we had a bye, then we played last night winning by one point. Due to the Knights defensive pressure, they were able to hold Fairfield to 0 points in the fourth. We were losing by 9 points towards the end of the fourth quarter. With PJ Osborne’s defensive pressure and Madi Bauer’s offense. The Knights came together at the end of the game to pull off the victory. This advances the Knights to the finals on Saturday at 1:30 at Fairfield Freshman School.

Lady Knights on a Roll

The Lady Knights are still going strong just beating Milford last night.  Their record is 10-1.  The Knights did suffer a loss to Ursuline by six.  The Knights made a surge in the fourth quarter to bring the game to two but were not able to come back for the win.  Against Milford, Katie Clark pulled down some boards for the Lady Knights.  Haley Delaney led the scoring and Caity Adams handled the pressure of the Milford defense.  Oli DeMumbrum got into foul trouble early, but was able to contribute in the second half by her offensive rebounds and put backs.

Knights Break A Legacy!

The freshman team beat the Mason Comets for first time in approximately 10 years.  The Knights led the whole game by a small margin and won by 4.  Mac Seiter was able to hit two free throws late in the game to extend the lead to four.  Oli DeMumbrum, PJ Osborne, and Katie Clark controlled the boards.  Haley Delaney’s defensive pressure caused the Comets to turn over the ball late in the game.  The Knights were able to hold on to the lead and look forward to playing them again this Tuesday.

Victory Over Turpin

The Knights won 39-10 against the Turpin Spartans.  They were able to hold Turpin to 10 points in the first half and Turpin was unable to score the rest of the game.  All of the players contributed!!!! Caity Adams took control of the game with the help of Mac Sieter in the third quarter.  Oli DeMumbrum controlled the boards.

Lady Knights Beat Fairfield in Close Game!

Knights beat Fairfield 30-27

 

The Lady Knights were ahead by two at the half then quickly fell behind by as much as 10 in the third quarter.  The Knights started pressing and cut the lead by six to start the fourth quarter.  Fairfield could not handle Kings pressure and Kings came within 1.  Caity Adams got fouled and they called a technical foul on Fairfield.  Adams sunk the two foul shot to put Kings ahead by one.  With two minutes left Mac Seiter got fouled and hit her foul shots stretching the lead by three. Again with the Knights pressure, Fairfield turned over the ball and the Knights got the last possession.  On the Knights come back run PJ Osborne’s full court pressure helped the Knights cut the lead.  All Kings Lady Knights pulled together to rally back to win the game.

Lady Knights Win Big Over Amelia

44-11

The Freshman Knights had a great showing against Amelia on Saturday.  Multiple Knights scored including Hannah Flaten, who scored her first points of the season.  Oli DeMumbrum was consistent giving us great rebounds, defense and scoring underneath.  Caity Adams controlled the tempo of the game by running the floor with the ball.  The Knights will take on Fairfield this week.

Lady Knights Take Down the Panthers

The Lady Knights posted a 55-11 win against the Springboro Panthers.  Mac Seiter led the way by her defensive pressure and steals.  Haley Delaney and Oli DeMumbrum helped on the boards and inside.  Everyone played an important role in the game.  It was a great victory.

Overtime Win Against The Warriors!

The Lady Knights were able to hold on to the victory in overtime against the Warriors by three points.  The Lady Knights led the whole game and had their first victory.  The Warriors did not make it easy on the Knights.  They made their foul shots in the second half and made some three point plays to tie the game.  The Lady Knights were led by Madi Bauer who scored nearly half of our points.  Her tenacious defense and rebounding helped the Lady Knights’ success.

Amazing Race!

The Lady Knights participated in an Amazing Race at YMCA Camp Kern.  The girls faced many different challenges: Giant Swing, Cowboy Up, Bean Bag Battle Ship, Life Size Word Searches, Fire Building and much more!  What a great season kick off!
