Lady Knights Beat Loveland to Advance To Semi-Finals
The 7th grade Lady Knights won their first two FAVC tournament games – 28-19 over Wilmington and 18-14 over Loveland. The girls advance to the Final Four versus #2 seed Walnut Hills at Little Miami Junior High on February 22.
Sarah Palmer led all scorers in the Wilmington game with 11 points. Sydney Miller led the team with 6 points versus Loveland.
The girls are now 12-4….Great job Ladies!
Lady Knights Win First Tournament Game
The 7th grade team opened tournament play by beating Wilmington for the 3rd time this year, 29-19. Sarah Palmer led all scorers with 11 points (on 9 for 10 free throw shooting). Also scoring: Patrice DiPasquale – 3, Brianne Gray / Brooke Renner – 4, Sydney Miller / Jenna Maschino / Grace Wolf – 2. The player of the game though was Kiley Maxwell, who along with Patrice and Jordan Philpot, effectively shut down Wilmington’s point guard who had given us a lot of trouble in the first two games! The girls play Thursday, February 11 (weather permitting) at 4:30 versus Loveland in the next round at Little Miami Junior High.
Last Season Game Falls Just Short
In the final game of the regular season, the 10-4 7th grade Lady Knights fell 25-23 at Walnut Hills. Walnut, the 2nd seed in the upcoming tournament, scored with about a minute left to go ahead for good, as we missed a couple attempts and free throws. The girls battled very well to the end. Sydney Miller led the team with 7 points. Also scoring: Sarah Palmer – 6, Patrice DiPasquale – 5, Jordan Philpot – 3 and Jenna Maschino – 2. The team opens tournament action against Wilmington Friday at Little Miami.
Lady Knighst Demolish the Panthers
The 7th grade Lady Knights closed the home portion of the schedule with a convincing 46-24 victory over visiting Little Miami. All 9 players scored as the girls won their 10th game (with just 3 losses). Sarah Palmer led the team with 11 points. Also scoring: Brianne Gray – 7, Jordan Philpot / Jenna Maschino / Grace Wolf – 5, Brooke Renner & Sydney Miller – 4, Kiley Maxwell- 3, and Patrice DiPasquale – 2. The team closes the regular season Wednesday at Walnut Hills and starts the tournament on Friday (2/5) at Little Miami versus Wilmington.
Lady Knights Get Revenge
The 7th grade Lady Knights got their revenge, as they beat Nagel Silver 27-20. The girls were in control the whole game as point guards Brooke Renner and Brianne Gray handled the Nagel press and effectively ran good 1/2 court offense. Sarah Palmer and Sydney Miller led the team in scoring with 9 and 8 points respectively. Brianne Gray chipped in 4 points and Patrice DiPasquale, Brooke Renner and Jenna Maschino added 2 points a piece. The team is now 8-3 with 3 games remaining before the tournament.
Lady Knights Rule the Barons
All of the Lady Knights scored as they turned in a great all around performance, drubbing Amelia 33-16. The girls are now 7-3, with 4 games remaining before the FAVC tournament. Jenna Maschino led all scorers with 8 points, followed by Patrice DiPasquale and Sarah Palmer with 6, Kiley Maxwell – 4, Brooke Renner / Sydney Miller / Jordan Philpot / Grace Wolf – 2, and Brianne Gray – 1. The team looks to get revenge at Nagel Silver next Monday.
Lady Knights Stomp the Panthers
The 7th grade Lady Knights beat Little Miami 23-19 to run their record to 6-2. Sarah Palmer led the girls with 12 points. Kiley Maxwell chipped in with 3 points. Brianne Gray, Brooke Renner, Jordan Philpot and Jenna Maschino added 2 points each.
Lady Knights Storm the Hurricanes
The 7th grade Lady Knights ran their record to 5-2 as they played their best offensive game of the season defeating Wilmington by a 44-29 score. All players scored, led by Sarah Palmer with 10 points. Others scoring: Patrice DiPasquale – 9, Kiley Maxwell – 8, Sydney Miller – 7, Jordan Philpot – 4, and Jenna Maschino / Grace Wolf / Brianne Gray – 2. Special props to Brianne Gray – due to injuries to Brooke Renner and Emma Edens, Brianne had to handle the point guard position for the whole game! Great job Bri!
Lady Knights Fall to the Nighthawks
The 7th grade Lady Knights saw the record drop to 4-2 going into the Christmas break as they lost to visiting Nagel Silver 23-18. Shooting woes allowed Nagel to jump out to an 8-2 lead at the quarter, but the girls battled back, just never to take the lead. 20% shooting versus the Nagel zone and 14% from the free throw line doomed the Lady Knights. Sydney Miller led the team with 8 points. After a well deserved break, the girls return to the floor on January 6th at Wilmington.
The 7th grade Lady Knights ran their record to 3-1, downing Loveland 15-11.
Point guards Brianne Gray and Brooke Renner did a great job directing the team through Loveland’s full court pressure. Our full court man press, led by Patrice DiPasquale, Emma Edens, Jenna Maschino and Kiley Maxwell, cause Loveland to turn the ball over 31 times in the game. Our inside four, Sarah Palmer, Sydney Miller, Jordan Philpot and Grace Wolf controlled the boards.
Palmer led us, scoring 6 points followed by, Jordan Philpot with 4, Sydney Mille 3 and Patrice DiPasquale 2.
The girls head into the Holidays with two games next week – both at home. Monday – Amelia and Tuesday – Nagel Silver.
Lady Knights Take Down the Rams!
The 7th grade Lady Knights ran their record to 2-1, downing Ross 18-17. Sarah Palmer hit a free throw with 4 seconds left to seal the win. Sarah led the team with 8 points. Also scoring for the Lady Knights…Sydney Miller – 3, Patrice DiPasquale – 2, Brooke Renner – 2, Emma Edens – 2, and Jordan Philpot – 1.The 7th grade A team opened the season with a convincing 25-13 victory versus Nagel Blue. The game started slowly with the Lady Knights leading 5-4 at the end of the 1st period. Steady full court pressure allowed the KJH squad to increase the lead, highlighted by a 6-0 3rd quarter which left us up by 10 points going into the final quarter. Brianne Gray and Sydney Miller led the team with 6 points each, followed by Sarah Palmer (5), Patrice DiPasquale (4), Brooke Renner (2) and Jenna Maschino (2). Emma Edens, Jordan Philpot, Kiley Maxwell and Grace Wolf didn’t score, but all contributed to the team win with their defense, rebounding and great effort!
