Tournament Action: Kings vs. Nagel
The Kings Knights were not able to rally against the Nagel Nighthawks in the first round of the Kings tournament and lost 24 to 19. It was a low scoring game that emphasized defense. The Knights were tied near the end of the first half at 8-8 until Nagel shot a long three at the buzzer to lead 11 to 8. The Nighthawks were able to maintain their slim lead in the second half and the Knights were never able to catch up. Sam Williams lead in scoring with 6 points by making a pair of three pointers in the first half. Austin Miller was a force under the basket with 8 rebounds and 4 points. Kenny Parton had three rebounds, three points (on a three pointer) and three steals. Frankie Fowler had 5 points.
Kings vs. Loveland
The Knights cruised to an easy victory over
Kings vs. Mason - rematch
The Knights fought off a comeback by Mason to prevail 29 to 33. The Mason Comets were behind for the first 3 quarters but staged a rally in the fourth quarter to get within 2 points. However Austin Miller sunk 4 straight free throws to pull the Knights ahead. Jon Melfi scored 10 points while Frankie Fowler grabbed 9 rebounds. Austin Miller finished with 7 points and Frankie Fowler had 5 points.
Kings vs. Edgewood
The Knights led the entire game and easily defeated Edgewood with a score of 41 to 17. Frankie Fowler, Sheldon Wheeler, and Kenny Parton had eight points each. Jon Melfi and Sam Williams scored 6 points apiece. Sheldon Wheeler and Austin Miller led in rebounding. It was a very good team effort with excellent passing and assists.
Kings vs Mason
The Kings Knights played a close game against Mason and came out on top 35 to 29. Frankie Fowler led with 12 points followed by Kenny Parton with 8. The Knights maintained a slim lead for most of the game and their tough defense kept Mason from making a serious run. Andrew Shaw sunk two 3 pointers in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
Kings over Little Miami
The Kings Knights led the game from the beginning against the overmatched Little Miami Panthers winning 29 - 12. Frankie Fowler made some some good inside plays and Kenny Parton sunk several 3 point shots. The Knights played excellent defense smothering the Panthers who never posed a threat.
Kings Knight at Conseco another success
34 members and 3 coaches from the Kings Jr. High program and over 70 fans made the trip to Indianapolis to play on the NBA Court at Conseco Fieldhouse. Read More about the event.
